We catch up with Nicola who tells us about some of the latest wedding dress trends and shares with us some tips for picking the perfect bridal gown for your special day.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business White Designer Studio?
My name is Nicola and I've almost fifteen years of experience in the bridal industry. I absolutely love helping brides find their dream dress. White Designer Studio is a luxurious boutique based in Navan, County Meath that offers exclusive appointments with Prosecco on arrival. A ground floor boutique with on-street parking just outside the door for convenience. We have dresses to suit all styles, sizes, shapes, and budgets with dresses starting at €300 off the rail and current stock from €900 up to €2,200. We also offer payment plans to help spread the cost.
Where do you source your wedding gowns from and what choices are available?
Our wedding dresses and bridal gowns come from all over the globe, from America, Australia, Italy, Germany, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. Dresses can be ordered in all sizes depending on the style and in a range of colours depending on the style and fabric. Ivory is a popular choice with Brides as it suits most skin tones and has a richness to it. We've also just received a fabulous new collection of plus size dresses from Romantica of Devon.
What would be the average cost of a wedding gown these days?
The average price of a wedding dress at our studio is €1,200 - €1,800 but the current best seller is just €990, which is a great price for the designs available. Alterations are a separate service but I have an amazing seamstress with 30 years experience in bridal dressmaking who will happily meet for fittings at the shop or at her studio which is just ten minutes away.
Do you offer all the optional add-ons, the veils, and the headpieces?
Yes, I also have a selection of accessories from Veils, Tiaras, Boleros, and belts to jewellery and coming soon a fabulous collection of wedding shoes.
Appointments are not possible of course with all that's going on but under normal circumstances what could be expected at one of your appointments?
Due to current Government restrictions we are currently closed but looking forward to welcoming all our customers and new customers back in very soon. Appointments can be made online here or by phone 085 2788038, or through our Facebook and Instagram pages. Bridal appointments are 90 minutes duration on Saturdays but longer times can be accommodated for if needed mid-week. Our opening hours are Wed-Sat 10am-5pm. Out of hours appointments are available on request. Usually, we welcome as many people as you wish to bring with you but going forward with social distancing restrictions numbers will be limited to the bride and two family members/friends. Video calling to others is allowed as well as taking photos. I also recommend if you can bring a pair of shoes the height of heel you intend to wear on the day to give an idea of the length required when placing an order.
What do you think will be the key wedding dress trends for 2021?
Some of the key trends for 2021 are sleeves, exposed corsetry, plunging necklines, and contemporary sparkle. All of which White Designer Studio will be bringing to you.
